Regarding the vehicle registrations in December, cars accounted for 65.8%, followed by small trucks 12.3%, motorcycles 11.5%, tractors 6.4%, trucks 1.5%, minibus 1.5%, bus 0.8% and special purpose vehicles 0.2%.

The number of road motor vehicle registrations decreased by 5.3% compared with the previous month

In December, the number of road motor vehicle registrations decreased by 24.1%, 5%, 4% and 3.3% for motorcycles, cars, trucks and small trucks while it  increased by 43.6%, 38.7%, 37.8% and 24.1% for special purpose vehicles, buses, minibuses and tractors respectively.

The number of road motor vehicles registered increased by 13.2% compared with the same month of the previous year  

In December, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 51.5%, 49.7%, 30.6%, 13%, 11.3% and 9.6%  for  trucks, motorcycles,  minibuses, small trucks, buses and cars while it decreased by 27% and 2.5% for special purpose vehicles and tractors respectively.

At the end of December, the total number of road motor vehicles registered reached 23 million 156 thousand 975

At the end of December, cars represented 54%, small trucks 16.4%, motorcycles 14.4%, tractors 8.2%, trucks 3.7%, minibuses 2.1%, buses 0.9% and special purpose vehicles 0.3% of total number of road motor vehicles registered.

1 million 22 thousand 892 road motor vehicles handed over in December

Among vehicles handed over(1) in December, cars accounted for 73.3% followed by small trucks 16.3%, tractors 3.1%, motorcycles 2.7%, trucks 2%, minibuses 1.9%, buses 0.6% and special purpose vehicles 0.1%.

In December, 41 thousand 777 cars were registered to the traffic

In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the new registered cars in December, Renault recorded 15.4%, Fiat 13.9%, Volkswagen 9.3%, Peugeot 7.5%, Hyundai 7.2%, Skoda 5.1%, Honda 4.9%, Dacia 4.1%, Ford 3.9%, Opel 3.6% and the other trademarks 25.2% of the total.

In the period of January-December, 671 thousand 131 road motor vehicles were registered to traffic

In January-December period compared to the same period of previous year, the number of registered vehicles decreased by 25.7% and became 671 thousand 131 while the number of withdrawn road motor vehicles increased by 48.3% and became 380 thousand 77. Hence, the increase in motor vehicles registered became 291 thousand 54.

In the period of January-December, the ratio of cars registered using diesel was 54.6%

Among 386 thousand 748 cars registered in the period of January-December, the share of diesel-fuelled cars was 54.6% followed by gasoline-fuelled cars with 36.2%, LPG-fuelled cars with 5.8% and electric or hybrid cars with 3.4%.  At the end of December, among 12 million 503 thousand 49 registered cars, the share of diesel-fuelled cars was 38.1% followed by LPG-fuelled cars with 37.3% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 24.2%. The share of electric or hybrid cars was 0.1% and the cars with unknown(2) fuel type was 0.3%.

Most frequent engine size was 1501-1600 for registered cars in the period of January-December

Within 386 thousand 748 cars registered to traffic in January-December period, 36.6% of them had engine size 1501-1600, 28.7% had 1401-1500, 13.7% had 1300 or less, 13.6% had 1301-1400, 6.1% had 1601-2000, 1.1% had 2001 and above.

In January-December period 208 thousand 47 of cars registered were white

Within 386 thousand 748 cars registered to traffic in January-December period, 53.8% of them were white, 24.1% were grey, 6.7% were black, 5.8% were red and 9.6% were in other colours.

Average age of vehicles registered to traffic was calculated as 13.8

By the end of year 2019, the average age of 23 million 156 thousand 975 road motor vehicles registered to traffic in Turkey was calculated as 13.8. Average age was 12.8 for cars, 13.7 for minibuses, 13.5 for buses, 11.7 for small trucks, 16.6 for trucks, 13.5 for motorcycles, 12.7 for special purpose vehicles and 23.9 for tractors.
