In Turkey, the share of general government total expenditures in GDP was 35.4% in 2019

The ratio of the general government deficit to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was 4.5% in 2019. Social security funds sector gave surplus in 2019 whereas other sectors gave deficit. The general government consolidated debt stock to GDP ratio rose to 32.6% in 2019.

The share of general government total expenditures in GDP was 35.4% in 2019

Total expenditures of general government reached 1 trillion 531 billion 456 million TL and its ratio to GDP increased to 35.4% in 2019. Total revenues increased to 1 trillion 338 billion 448 million TL and the share of revenues in GDP decreased to 31%.

As a value, an increase was seen in all of the main expenditure and income items. The general government gave 193 billion 8 million TL deficit in 2019.

Total tax and social contribution receipts increased to 1 trillion 68 billion 423 million TL in 2019

Total receipts of general government from taxes and social contributions increased to 1 trillion 68 billion 423 million TL in 2019. The share of taxes on production and imports in total fell to 43.5% in 2019 while it was 44% in 2018. The share of net social contributions and current taxes on income and wealth etc. increased to 30.8% and 25.6% respectively. The share of capital taxes did not change.
