Consumer Confidence Index in Turkey, May 2017

Consumer confidence index realized as 72.8
The consumer confidence index calculated from the results of the consumer tendency survey carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey increased by 2.1% compared to the previous month. The index became 72.8 in May while it was 71.3 in April.

Financial situation expectation index realized as 92
The financial situation expectation of household index increased by 1.4% compared to the previous month and became 92 in May. This increase resulted from the increase in the ratio of people expecting better financial situation of household in the next 12 months period.

General economic situation expectation index increased to 100.6
The general economic situation expectation index which was 96.2 in April increased by 4.5% and became 100.6 in May. This increase shows that number of consumers expecting a better general economic situation in the next 12 months increased compared to the previous month.

Number of people unemployed expectation index became 75.3
The number of people unemployed expectation index increased by 3% compared to the previous month and became 75.3 in May. This increase stemmed from the decrease of people expecting an increase in the number of unemployed persons in the next 12 months.

Probability of saving index realized as 23.3
The probability of saving index decreased by 6.9% from 25.1 in April to 23.3 in May. This decrease shows that the possibility of saving of consumers in the next 12 months period decreased compared to the previous month.
