In 2019, a total expenditure of 259 billion 220 million TL was made with an increase of 18.2% compared to 2018. When evaluated according to educational levels, education expenditures increased at most in primary education with 31.9% and lower secondary education with 26.4% in 2019 compared to the previous year.

The 38.4% of education expenditure spent by private institutions was for upper secondary education and 36.8% for tertiary education.

The total education expenditure per student was increased by 17.6%. The level of education which reached the highest increase in 2019 compared to 2018 about education expenditure by financing source was primary school with 30.1%. This was followed by lower secondary school with 25.1%.
