Seasonally adjusted confidence index increased by 3.4% in services sector while decreased by 2.0% in retail trade and 5.7% in construction sectors in February compared to the previous month.

Services confidence index realized as 98.5

Seasonally adjusted confidence index which was 95.2 for services in January increased by 3.4% in February to 98.5. In services sector compared to the previous month, demand-turnover expectation over next three months index increased by 4.0% to 105.7. Business situation over past three months and demand-turnover over past three months indices increased by 3.2% and 2.9% respectively to 95.1 and 94.6.

Retail trade confidence index realized as 102.9

Seasonally adjusted retail trade confidence index decreased by 2.0% in February to 102.9. In retail trade sector compared to the previous month, current volume of stock index decreased by 3.0% to 107.8. Business activity-sales expectation over next three months and business activity-sales over past three months indices decreased by 0.6% and 2.4% respectively to 105.0 and 95.7.

Construction confidence index realized as 74.5

Seasonally adjusted construction confidence index which was 78.9 in previous month decreased by 5.7% in February to 74.5. In construction sector compared to the previous month, total employment expectation over next three months index decreased by 5.1% to 88.5. Current overall order books index became 60.4 by decreasing 6.5%.

In construction sector, 64.8% of the enterprises indicated at least one factor limiting their activities while 35.2% of the enterprises indicated none in February. Among the main factors limiting activities in construction sector; “financial constraints” which was 48.5% in January realized as 42.1% in February, “insufficient demand” which was 36.1% in January realized as 34.7% in February and “weather conditions” which was 15.5% in January realized as 18.3% in February.

Sectoral confidence indices can take value between 0 and 200. It indicates an optimistic outlook when the index is above 100, but it indicates a pessimistic outlook when it is below 100.
