In July 2020, the number of road motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 82.6% compared with the previous month

Regarding the vehicle registrations in July, cars accounted for 59.8%, followed by motorcycles 22.4%, small trucks 11.7%, tractors 3.3%, trucks 1.4%, minibus 0.6%, bus 0.5% and special purpose vehicles 0.3%.

The number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 82.6% compared with the previous month

In July, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 250.4%, 165.0%, 103.1%, 86.0%, 69.7%, 53.1% and 5.3% for special purpose vehicles, cars, small trucks, trucks, buses, minibuses and motorcycles respectively, while it decreased by 10.2% for tractors.

The number of road motor vehicles registered increased by 105.4% compared with the same month of the previous year

In July, compared with the same month of the previous year, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 545.7%, 205.2%, 171.7%, 168.1%, 116.0%, 79.7%, 72.4% and 65.0% for special purpose vehicles, buses, minibuses, small trucks, cars, tractors, trucks and motorcycles respectively.

At the end of July, the total number of road motor vehicles registered reached 23 million 653 thousand 515

At the end of July, cars represented 54.1%, small trucks 16.3%, motorcycles 14.5%, tractors 8.2%, trucks 3.6%, minibuses 2.1%, buses 0.9% and special purpose vehicles 0.3% of total number of road motor vehicles registered.

995 thousand 755 road motor vehicles handed over in July

Among vehicles handed over(1) in July, cars accounted for 72.5% followed by small trucks 15.1%, motorcycles 6.0%, tractors 2.1%, trucks 1.9%, minibuses 1.9%, buses 0.4% and special purpose vehicles 0.1%.

In July, 83 thousand 119 cars were registered to the traffic

In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the new registered cars in July, Renault recorded 18.9%, Fiat 15.8%, Volkswagen 6.9%, Dacia 5.9%, Skoda 5.1%, Audi 4.9%, Toyota 4.6%, Opel 4.4%, Peugeot 4.1%, Hyundai 4.0%, Honda 3.6%, Ford 3.5%, Citroen 2.9%, BMW 2.7%, Mercedes-Benz 2.3%, Volvo 2.1%, Seat 2.1%, Kia 1.9%, Nissan 0.9%, Suzuki 0.6% and the other trademarks 2.9% of the total.

In the period of January-July total road motor vehicles in traffic increased by 526 thousand 939

In January-July period compared to the same period of previous year, the number of registered vehicles increased by 38.4% and became 526 thousand 939, while the number of withdrawn road motor vehicles decreased by 81.6% and became 28 thousand 373. Hence, in the period of January-July the increase in motor vehicles registered became 498 thousand 566.

In the period of January-July the ratio of cars registered using gasoline was 47.8%

Among 298 thousand 241 cars registered in the period of January-July, the share of gasoline-fuelled cars was 47.8% followed by diesel-fuelled cars with 43.1%, LPG-fuelled cars with 6.0% and electric or hybrid cars with 3.1%.  At the end of July, among 12 million 797 thousand 195 registered cars, the share of diesel-fuelled cars was 38.3% followed by LPG-fuelled cars with 37.1% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 24.2%. The share of electric or hybrid cars was 0.2% and the cars with unknown(2) fuel type was 0.3%.

Most frequent engine size was 1401-1500 for registered cars in the period of January-July

Within 298 thousand 241 cars registered to traffic in January-July period, 30.6% had 1401-1500, 25.7% of them had engine size 1501-1600, 23.3% had 1300 or less, 13.6% had 1301-1400, 5.7% had 1601-2000, 0.9% had 2001 and above.

In the period of January-July 146 thousand 24 of cars registered were white

Within 298 thousand 241 cars registered to traffic in January-July period, 49.0% of them were white, 25.8% were grey, 7.4% were black, 7.0% were blue, 6.6% were red, 1.6% were orange, 1.3% were brown, 0.7% were yellow, 0.2% were green and 0.6% were in other colours.

(2) Unknown includes the cars for which the type of fuel field in the license was entered incorrectly or left blank.
