The number of road motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 44.3% compared with the previous month

Regarding the vehicle registrations in April, cars accounted for 48.9%, followed by motorcycles 28.3%, small trucks 11.1%, tractors 7.4%, trucks 2.6%, minibus 0.9%, bus 0.6% and special purpose vehicles 0.2%.

The number of road motor vehicle registrations decreased by 44.3% compared with the previous month

In April, the number of road motor vehicle registrations decreased by 54.9%, 54.6%, 54.1%, 50.1%, 30.0%, 28.5%, 24.1% and 5.4% for minibuses, cars, small trucks, buses, tractors, trucks, special purpose vehicles and motorcycles respectively.

The number of road motor vehicles registered decreased by 26.1% compared with the same month of the previous year

In April, compared with the same month of the previous year, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 19.1% and 5.3% for tractors and trucks, while it decreased by 65.3%, 34.3%, 28.0%, 17.4%, 15.9% and 9.9% for special purpose vehicles, cars, small trucks, motorcycles, buses and minibuses respectively.

At the end of April, the total number of road motor vehicles registered reached 23 million 398 thousand 837

At the end of April, cars represented 54.1%, small trucks 16.4%, motorcycles 14.4%, tractors 8.2%, trucks 3.6%, minibuses 2.1%, buses 0.9% and special purpose vehicles 0.3% of total number of road motor vehicles registered.

348 thousand 678 road motor vehicles handed over in April

Among vehicles handed over(1) in April, cars accounted for 66.5% followed by small trucks 16.7%, motorcycles 7.5%, tractors 4.1%, trucks 2.7%, minibuses 2.0%, buses 0.4% and special purpose vehicles 0.1%.

In April, 19 thousand 660 cars were registered to the traffic

In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the new registered cars in April, Fiat recorded 13.3%, Volkswagen 11.8%, Renault 9.9%, Peugeot 9.4%, Opel 8.0%, Ford 6.9%, BMW 4.8%, Mercedes-Benz 4.5%, Citroen 4.0%, Dacia 3.7%, Hyundai 3.5%, Audi 3.1%, Seat 2.4%, Toyota 1.9%, Skoda 1.7%, Honda 1.6%, Volvo 1.6%, Kia 1.5%, Jeep 0.9%, Nissan 0.9% and the other trademarks 4.7% of the total.

In the period of January-April total road motor vehicles in traffic increased by 259 thousand 918

In January-April period compared to the same period of previous year, the number of registered vehicles increased by 21.7% and became 259 thousand 918, while the number of withdrawn road motor vehicles decreased by 77.1% and became 16 thousand 136. Hence, in the period of January-April the increase in motor vehicles registered became 243 thousand 782.

In the period of January-April the ratio of cars registered using diesel was 45.9%

Among 161 thousand 14 cars registered in the period of January-April, the share of diesel-fuelled cars was 45.9% followed by gasoline-fuelled cars with 44.2%, LPG-fuelled cars with 6.8% and electric or hybrid cars with 3.1%.  At the end of April, among 12 million 661 thousand 25 registered cars, the share of diesel-fuelled cars was 38.2% followed by LPG-fuelled cars with 37.2% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 24.1%. The share of electric or hybrid cars was 0.2% and the cars with unknown(2) fuel type was 0.3%.

Most frequent engine size was 1401-1500 for registered cars in the period of January-April

Within 161 thousand 14 cars registered to traffic in January-April period, 31.0% had 1401-1500, 27.9% of them had engine size 1501-1600, 20.3% had 1300 or less, 14.3% had 1301-1400, 5.5% had 1601-2000, 1.0% had 2001 and above.

In the period of January-April 83 thousand 223 of cars registered were white

Within 161 thousand 14 cars registered to traffic in January-April period, 51.7% of them were white, 24.1% were grey, 6.7% were black, 6.6% were red, 6.4% were blue, 1.7% were orange, 1.3% were brown, 0.8% were yellow, 0.2% were green and 0.3% were in other colours.

(2) Unknown includes the cars for which the type of fuel field in the license was entered incorrectly or left blank.
