The degree of self-sufficiency of cereals (total) was realized as 110.2% in the marketing year 2015-2016. In wheat with the biggest share in total cereal production, degree of self-sufficiency was 113.6%. For two products; barley and maize, which are important inputs to fodder industry, degrees of self-sufficiency were realized as 106.5% and 105%, respectively.

The highest degree of self-sufficiency in the category of dried pulses crops was 98.1% for chickpea. Red lentil is a high consumption product and degree of self-sufficiency was realized as 81.6%.

Degree of self-sufficiency of potato, one of edible roots and tubers products group, was 100.8%. For sunflower, soybean and rapeseed, in which great portion of domestic demand is satisfied with imports, degrees of self-sufficiency of were 78.9%, 6.9% and 26.9% respectively.

The degree of self-sufficiency was realized as 94.4% for sugar the greater portion of total sugar production was consumed domestically.

The level of domestic demand compensation by domestic production of total vegetable was realized as 106.8% in the marketing year 2015-2016. While the big share of the total vegetable supply was consumed domestically, only 6.6% was exported.

While the degree of self-sufficiency for carrot, in tuberous and root vegetables group, was the highest value with 115.3%, it is followed by green onion with 102.5% and dry onion with 102.1%.

The degree of self-sufficiency of tomato, raised for its fruit and at the same time has the biggest share in total vegetable production, was realized as 110.8%. It is followed by squash with 110.1% and pepper with 109.2%.

While the degree of self-sufficiency for green bean, in the leguminous vegetables group, was the lowest value with 100.3%, it was 102.2% for green pea and 101.2% for green broad bean.
