Total red meat production was estimated as 291 thousand 565 tonnes in the 4th quarter

Total red meat production increased by 12.3% compared with the same quarter of previous year and it was estimated as 291 thousand 565 tonnes.

It increased by 7.4% compared with the previous year and became 1 million 201 thousand 469 tonnes. In total red meat production, the amount produced by slaughterhouses was 158 thousand 911 tonnes.

While cattle meat production increased by 9.5% and estimated as 262 thousand 476 tonnes, sheep meat production increased 45.9% and estimated as 26 thousand 123 tonnes, and goat meat production increased by 57.5% tonnes and estimated as 2 thousand 967 tonnes compared with the same quarter of previous year.

Red meat production statistics, which has been published quarterly, are going to be released annually from 2021 due to the methodological changes. In this concept, data on red meat production for 2020 are going to be published in February 2021.

Total red meat production was estimated as 443 014 tonnes in the 3rd quarter

While red meat production increased by 73.4% according to the previous quarter that kurban festival was realized, it increased by 30.5% when compared with the same quarter of last year. In total red meat production, the amount produced by slaughterhouses was 180 thousand 759 tonnes.

Cattle meat production was estimated as 398 thousand 24 tonnes

While cattle meat production increased by 77.9% according to the previous quarter, it increased by 29.8% when compared with the same quarter of last year.

Sheep meat production was estimated as 34 thousand 726 tonnes

While sheep meat production increased 13.5% according to the previous quarter, it increased 21.7% when compared with the same quarter of last year.

While Cattle meat production decreased by 16.6% according to the previous quarter, it increased by 0.03% when compared with the same quarter of last year.
