The Winner Is Tofaş In 2016!

According to the data of Automotive Industry Association, TOFAŞ took the first place in both import and export.

TOFAŞ being one of the most important companies in automotive industry and originating from Bursa;
increased its export from 173,743 pcs in 2015 to 279,444 pcs in 2016 which means 60, 84 % in export.

The amount of production was 278.254 in 2015; on the other hand, that amount was 383.495 in 2016. Owing to the success of TOFAŞ in 2016, OYAK Renault went down to the second rank.

At the end of March, the total number of road motor vehicles registered reached 21 362 512
The total number of road motor vehicles registered to the traffic reached 21 million 362 thousand 512 by the end of March. Within the total, cars represented 53.8%, followed by small trucks 16.4%, motorcycles 14.1%, tractors 8.3%, trucks 3.9%, minibuses 2.2%, buses 1% and special purpose vehicles 0.3%.

In March, 102 899 road motor vehicle registrations were recorded
Within 102 thousand 899 vehicle registrations in March, cars accounted for 54.7%, followed by small trucks 19.9%, motorcycles 10.7% and tractors 6.9%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 7.8% of new registrations.

The number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 58.3% compared with the previous month
In March, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 58.3% compared with the previous month. Cars, minibuses, buses, small trucks, trucks, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors increased by 47.5%, 185%, 17.3%, 78% , 48.1%, 72%, 441.2% and 36.5% respectively.

Among 675 thousand 972 vehicles handed over⁽¹⁾, cars accounted for 69% followed by small trucks 16.8%, motorcycles 4.7% and tractors 3.6%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 5.9% of the handed over motor vehicles in March.

The ratio of cars registered using LPG was 39%
At the end of March, among 11 million 493 thousand 249 registered cars, the share of LPG-fuelled cars was 39% followed by diesel-fuelled cars with 34.1% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 26.5%. The ratio of the cars with unknown⁽²⁾ fuel type was 0.4%.

In March, 56 310 cars were registered to the traffic
In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the 56 thousand 310 new registered cars in March, Renault recorded 17.4%, Volkswagen 10.9%, Hyundai 7%, Fiat 6.7%, Dacia 6.2%, Opel 5.6%, Ford 4.8%, Honda 4.7%, Mercedes-Benz 4.3%, Nissan 4.1% and the other trademarks 28.3% of the total.

Most frequent engine size was 1501-1600 for registered cars
Within 179 thousand 116 cars registered to traffic in January-March period, 40.2% of them had engine size 1501-1600, 28.7% had 1401-1500, 13.7% had 1300 or less, 12.8% had 1301-1400, 3.3% had 1601-2000, 1.3% had 2001 and above engine size.

Most frequent color was white for registered cars
Within 179 thousand 116 cars registered to traffic in January-March period, 59.8% of them were white, 16% were grey, 8% were black, 5.4% were red and 10.8% were in other colors.

Car Sales in Morocco!

Car sales in Morocco increased 16.5% in March compared with the same month last year.

The Dacia brand still leads the market with 6,495 registrations, followed by Renault (4,795), Peugeot (2,387), Nissan (1,736) and Citroën (1,564).

However, some manufacturers have performed poorly, including Ford (-4.5%), Fiat (-12%) and Hyundai (-15%).

The total number of road motor vehicles registered to the traffic reached 21 million 268 thousand 879 by the end of February. Within 65 thousand 8 vehicle registrations in February, cars accounted for 58.7%, followed by small trucks 17.7%, motorcycles 9.9% and tractors 8%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 5.7% of new registrations.

In February, the number of road motor vehicle registrations decreased by 49.5% compared with the previous month. Cars, minibuses, buses, small trucks, trucks and special purpose vehicles decreased by 54.9%, 47%, 22.5%, 60.1% , 28.7% and 28.5% respectively. Motorcycles and tractors increased by 17.9% and 22.7%.

Hyundai and Kia groups are planing to call back their cars in South Korea!

Hyundai and Kia groups are planing to call 171,348 cars back in South Korea due to an engine defect. Because the ministry said metal debris in crankshafts could cause engine damage, leading to possible engine stalling.

The recall covers Hyundai’s Sonata, Grandeur sedans and Kia’s K5, K7 and Sportage models.

The number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 26.9% compared with the previous month
In January, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 26.9% compared with the previous month. Cars, minibuses, buses, small trucks and special purpose vehicles increased by 29%, 20.7%, 41.1%, 85.6% and 75.3% respectively. Trucks, motorcycles and tractors decreased by 12.5%, 27.1% and 45.6%.
