As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index decreased by 0.9% in March. In the same month, compared to March 2016, while the index for food, beverages and tobacco and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) decreased by 8.4% and 1.3%, respectively, the index for crude materials (except fuels) and fuels increased by 9.3% and 24.5%, respectively.

The overall export unit value index decreased by 0.3% in Quarter I 2017, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The overall import unit value index increased by 6.7%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 6.7% in March. While the index for food, beverages and tobacco decreased by 1.9%, the index for crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 17.4%, 25.1% and 0.8%, respectively.

The overall import unit value index increased by 6.7% in Quarter I 2017, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The overall export volume index increased by 14.6%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 14.6% in March. Compared with March 2016, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 14.4%, 39.9%, 61.4% and 17.7%, respectively.

The overall export volume index increased by 9.6% in Quarter I 2017, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The overall import volume index increased by 0.2%
In March, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 0.2%. While the index for manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) decreased by 8.3%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels) and fuels increased by 16.4%, 1.6% and 4.9%, respectively.

The overall import volume index increased by 0.9% in Quarter I 2017, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index increased by 5.9%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 143.7 in February 2017, increased by 5.9%, to 152.1 in March 2017. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 141.6 in March 2016, increased by 14.6%, to 162.3 in March 2017.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index increased by 4%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 129.8 in February, increased by 4%, to 135 in March 2017. The calendar adjusted import volume index which was 139.1 in March 2016, increased by 0.2%, to 139.4 in March 2017.

Terms of trade was 105.8 in March 2017
Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade were 113.8 in March 2016, it decreased by 8 points to 105.8 in March 2017.

Terms of trade decreased by 7.5 points to 106.3 in Quarter I 2017, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 7.3% in February. While the index for “food, beverages and tobacco” decreased by 2.8%, the index for “crude materials (except fuels)”, “fuels” and “manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)” increased by 14.3%, 31.4% and 1.4%, respectively.

The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year decreased by 1.6% in February. Compared with February 2016, the index for “food, beverages and tobacco”, “crude materials (except fuels)”, “fuels” and “manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)” increased by 4.9%, 14.1%, 15.9% and 5.4%, respectively.

The overall import volume index decreased by 5.3%
In February, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year decreased by 5.3%. While the index for “fuels” increased by 8.7%, the index for “food, beverages and tobacco”, “crude materials (except fuels)” and “manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)” decreased by 1.7%, 18.3% and 10.7%, respectively.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 145.1 in January 2017, decreased by 1.3%, to 143.2 in February 2017. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 135.9 in February 2016, increased by 1.8%, to 138.3 in February 2017.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index was 129.3  
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 129.3 in January, remained the same in February 2017. The calendar adjusted import volume index which was 122.8 in February 2016, decreased by 3.3%, to 118.8 in February 2017.

Terms of trade was 106.7 in February 2017
Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade were 114.8 in February 2016, it decreased by 8.1 points to 106.7 in February 2017.

In the same month, compared to January 2016, while the index for “food, beverages and tobacco” and  “manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)” decreased by 9% and  0.7%, respectively, the index for  “crude materials (except fuels)” and “fuels” increased by 7.6% and 46%, respectively.

The overall import unit value index increased by 6.3%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 6.3% in January. While the index for “food, beverages and tobacco” decreased by 4.8%, the index for “crude materials (except fuels)”, “fuels” and  “manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)” increased by 10.2%, 22.8% and 1.4%, respectively.

The overall export volume index increased by 17.3%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 17.3% in January. Compared with January 2016, the index for “food, beverages and tobacco” , “crude materials (except fuels)”, “fuels” and “manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)”  increased by 24.2%, 29.9%, 19.5% and 12.6%, respectively.

The overall import volume index increased by 9%
In January, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 9%. The index for “food, beverages and tobacco”, “crude materials (except fuels)”, “fuels” and “manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco)” increased by 16.2%, 13.3%, 15.9% and 4.6%, respectively.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 140.8 in December 2016, increased by 3%, to 145.1 in January 2017. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 110.6 in January 2016, increased by 17.3%, to 129.6 in January 2017.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 3%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 133.6 in December 2016, decreased by 3%, to 129.6 in January 2017. The calendar adjusted import volume index which was 111.5 in January 2016, increased by 4%, to 116 in January 2017.

Terms of trade was 107.8 in January 2017
Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade were 113.9 in January 2016, it decreased by 6.1 points to 107.8 in January 2017.
