Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products in Turkey increased by 16.07% annually and 2.17% monthly

Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products, December 2019 in Turkey

Agriculture-PPI (2015=100) on the previous month increased by 2.17%, on December of the previous year increased by 16.07%, on same month of the previous year increased by 16.07% and on the twelve months moving averages basis increased by 22.74% in December 2019.

Compared to the previous month in sectors; forestry products decreased by 2.42%, agriculture and hunting products increased by 2.18% and fishing increased by 5.49%. Regarding monthly changes by main groups; non-perennial crops increased by 1.11%, live animals, animal products increased by 2.56% and perennial crops increased by 3.58%.

The highest annual decrease was 8.28% in poultry, live and eggs subgroup

Vegetables and melons, roots and tubers was the other subgroup where high annual decreases realized with 5.23% on the same month of the previous year. On the other hand, citrus fruits with 48.38%, other tree and bush fruits and nuts with 45.85% were the subgroups where high annual increases realized on the same month of the previous year.

The highest monthly decrease was 6.25% in oleaginous fruits subgroupIn December 2019, the other group that indicated a decrease was other farmed animals and animal products with 1.47% amongst the subgroups. On the other hand, other tree and bush fruits and nuts with 4.94 and dairy cattle, live and raw milk from dairy cattle with 3.38% were the subgroups where high monthly increases realized.

In December 2019 within average prices of 86 items in the index, the average prices of 30 items decreased and the average prices of 6 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 50 items increased.
