Bulgaria is removing the ‘’golden visa’’ that enables foreign people to acquire citizenship and the right to reside in return for their investments.

The citizenship right and the right to reside of those who have already acquired them will be kept.

Deputy Minister of Justice Desislava Ahladova said that nearly 50 foreigners acquired citizenship by making investments worth €500 million since 2013.
